This altitude contributes to a relatively cool and humid climate. The terrain is characterized by rolling hills and valleys, typical of the Kenyan highlands, heavily cultivated with tea, coffee, and other cash crops. Kerugoya isn’t directly adjacent to a major body of water, though it’s within the watershed of the Tana River, influencing local humidity. While not a heavily industrialized zone, the surrounding agricultural activity contributes to potential air quality concerns through the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and biomass burning for land preparation.
