Located at 22.7100°N latitude and 88.3500°E longitude, the city’s terrain is generally flat, characteristic of the Bengal Delta. Rishra’s elevation is low, making it vulnerable to riverine flooding and influencing local air circulation patterns. The surrounding landscape is a mix of intensely cultivated agricultural land – primarily rice paddies – and burgeoning industrial areas. Historically a riverine trading post, Rishra has evolved into a significant industrial hub, particularly for jute and engineering products.
